In 2025, the Library of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University joined the international project INNBI - Initiation of a Network of National Bibliometric Infrastructures with the support of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The project is coordinated by the German Research Centre for Higher Education and Research (DZHW).
The international consortium also includes: Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (Yerevan, Armenia); Institute for Scientific and Technical Information (Tbilisi, Georgia); Institute for Development of Information Society (Chisinau, Moldova).
The aim of the project is to create a network of national bibliometric infrastructures that will allow for the effective exchange of data prepared with local expertise. This is an important step towards the formation of a decentralised international bibliometric database that reflects the real picture of national scientific systems. The decentralised approach will ensure a new quality of data that takes into account the specifics of each country and helps to strengthen international scientific cooperation.
The project will run until 31 October 2025. It envisages the creation of technical and social infrastructure for networking, data standardisation and piloting the international exchange of bibliometric information collected in the national context.
This initiative is an important step towards strengthening Ukraine's academic sovereignty, integration into the European Research Area and increasing the international visibility of Ukrainian science.
For Grinchenko University, participation in the INNBI project is a recognition of our experience in open science, scientometrics and research support, as well as an opportunity to contribute to the development of new standards for evaluating research activities in the European academic space.
