On 24 April 2025, Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University hosted an official visit of Mr. Patricio Rumeu Casares, the Counsellor of the Embassy of Kingdom of Spain in Ukraine.

Mr. Counsellor was welcomed by Nataliia Vinnikova, Head of the Academic Council, Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs, Valentyna Yakuba, Dean of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology and Anastasiia Kopytina, Head of the Department of Romance Philology.

As part of the meeting, held on the occasion of World Book Day, students of the educational program “Language and Literature (Spanish)” and faculty members of the Spanish section of the Department of Romance Philology organized an event dedicated to the life and legacy of the outstanding Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes. The students presented their own interpretations of the novel “Don Quixote”, creating an artistic “bridge” between Spanish and Ukrainian literature and culture through poetry, dance and gestures.

Mr. Patricio Rumeu answered questions from the audience, noting high level of Spanish language proficiency of the students, and focused on projects planned by the Embassy of Kingdom of Spain in Ukraine.

Mr. Counsellor got acquainted with the University, its priority areas of activity, social and creative initiatives and its infrastructure.

The visit also included discussions on the prospects of further participation of Grinchenko University in the projects supported by the Embassy of Kingdom of Spain in Ukraine and cooperation with higher education institutions in Spain.
